Panasonic's KX-TG2386B 2.4 GHz cordless phone gives you clear conversation and a wealth of convenient features. Its built-in answering machine stores 15 minutes of digitally recorded messages that can be played back up to 30% slower than the original speed — handy for better understanding the recorded call, and noting phone numbers and other information.
The handset comes with a shoulder pad for hands-free conversation, as well as a jack for an optional headset. Both the handset and base unit have built-in speakerphones. You can even have a three-way conversation between the handset, the base unit, and the outside line.
Why does frequency matter?
In general, the higher a cordless phone's frequency range, the farther it can operate from its base and the less it's susceptible to interference from other sources. Today's 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz phones tend to perform better than phones using older 900 MHz technology.
Wireless computer networks and 2.4 GHz phones share the same frequency range, which can cause interference with your PC's connection. If you're using Wi-Fi® in your home, a 5.8 GHz phone makes a good choice.
