Breakthrough in enhancing intelligibility
Significant hearing loss is associated with poor high frequency hearing. To date this
cannot be compensated for with traditional amplification, which means that key speech
information such as “s” and “sh” remains inaudible. These audibility gaps make daily
communication extremely difficult and tiring, and may also impact the clarity of a wearer’s
own speech. In addition, sounds such as birdsongs, telephone rings, alarms and doorbells
are not heard.
SoundRecover, a Phonak proprietary algorithm, is designed to compress and shift high
frequencies into an adjacent area of audible hearing.
This unique approach enables high frequency information to be compressed without
producing artifacts. Extensive, worldwide field studies have shown:

Protected housing
WaterResistant, sweat-proof, dirt-proof
We have carefully analyzed the housing and have identified the zones that need
special treatment to avoid dirt and moisture from entering. As a result, we have
added a special silicone lining, gaskets at the receiver tube and programming
switch and a protection mat under the volume control and programming socket.
In addition, the microphone and battery door openings are shielded by a special
POREX® material. The same measures have been taken for the design-integrated
FM. Thus protected, the Naída housings allow wearers to use their instruments
while doing rigorous labor, following a strenuous exercise, being active outdoors
in humid climates or even when unexpectedly caught in the rain. Knowing how
comfortable Naída is, we are aware of the risk that wearers will forget to take
them off, it is therefore only logical that we made Naída WaterResistant.
